Sterbensfreude and its appendices are my attempt to seriously reckon with what I saw as a failure within phenomenological philosophy to account for consciousness as experienced in death (what’s known as a near-death experience, or NDE) and in another experience that claims a kind of death-status: ego death, as induced by meditation and by entheogenic/psychedelic drugs . Again, despite some reservations, I think this did  rather well, and am mostly happy with it, especially as a first foray into phenomenology and philosophy.
